We all have raided our mothers treasure trove at some point of time. A few months back when I did so, this shoot was the outcome.
There is something very appealing about what comes out of their closets. Saris that tell tales of the past, shawls that havnt seen the light of day for years and sometimes even jewellery that is so precious and thus never been worn. These facts and stories are actually what makes a peice more meaningful and closer to our hearts.
Lately, when we attended the Vogue Wedding Show and ran our hands over the Pashminas that were woven with tales of God and goddes that we couldn’t stop admiring. Ahujasons came out with a collection of shawls for bridal trousseau that were exquisite and one of a kind peices.
They took almost a year to be made and the final result was not less than a masterpiece. From yesteryears swayamvar stories to Radha-Krishna’s raas leela these shawls depict each story in a magnificent way.
However, it’s not just the story that makes these shawls special. They are made of pure Pashmina alongwith Kalamkari embroidery over it. Each masterpiece costs around a lakh or more but seems totally worth it.
