What to Expect From Amazon India Fashion Week SS’16

After the Couture Week and a month of luring over the extravagant garments it is now time to lust over the ready-to-wear collection. Yes, it is that time of the year when we bid farewell to a few trends and replace them with some new ones. This is season, the Amazon India Fashion Week in association with Maybelline India starts on the 7th of October.

This week long fashion fiesta where designers will showcase their Spring Summer 2016 collection will be commenced by Sanjay Garg of the eponymous label, Raw Mango, a debutant at the Amazon India Fashion Week. He is known for reviving Indian heritage through the indigenous sari and intelligent use of Indian handlooms. The designer exclaims, “The garments in this collection aim to bridge the gap between textile and fashion, and at the same time, blur the categories of traditional and modern, old and new, past and present. The garments present technical advancements in Mashru that make the ‘old’ textile contemporary, while retaining the luxuriousness that has always been an important part of it,”

However, this season we have another debut show by designer Anamika Khanna in association with lifestyle decor brand, SPACES Home & Beyond.

On the other hand, designer duo known for their sensual bikini saris will be holding an off-site show on the day one of the fashion week. They will be setting the mood for holidays and honeymoons. “The colour palette swims in tranquil notes of terracotta, herb greens, aqua and Hollywood pinks,” confesses designer Narresh Kukreja.

So, get ready to keep your fashion foot forward and enjoy the week full of fashionable garments, prodigal sets and some dulcet music.
